Kevin designed a new rosette, shown below, with a braz wood backing. He then trimmed it in abalone with a very thin abalone inner ring. Thinking it might look better with winder abalone inner ring, I placed a few pieces down and took this photo of the mock-up. And this is what we'll use for this build. Kevin will add matching abalone top purfling.
